A lucky day for Big Boomer

     Today was the luckiest day of Big Boomer's life. Well, maybe it was the second luckiest day of his life. We could say that the luckiest day was when Boomer (who was three years old at the time) was rescued and brought to Straydog back in July 2001. But today, after more than eight years of being in our care, Boomer finally found his forever home and family and what a home and family it is! 

     Bill and I got ready to drive Big Boomer today to his new home. Early this morning, Lacie thought she would make Boomer nice and clean for his home visit. She gave him a good bath and applied some Frontline afterwards. That was very nice of her. Big Boomer didn't really like the bath, but he really needed one.
 
     Right on time, a little before 10 a.m. Lacie accompanied us as we walk Big Boomer to the van. We lifted him into the van crate, where Boomer didn't seem very happy. He was nervous and shaking all over, poor thing. We drove down the Straydog driveway on our way to Kenneth and Chrystyna's home over 100 miles from our shelter.
