Very
sad news to report: Wednesday,
September 1, 2010 - Tiger has had lots of health problems over
the past few months, but she seemed to have regained her health
and was back to living a normal routine until she had a seizure
a few days ago. She seemed to be improving at first, but then
Monday she was not doing so well, though she was not suffering.
After one more day of trying to pull her through, Tuesday she
remained in a very deep sleep. The doctor called Juana Tuesday
afternoon and said Tiger was in a coma and dying, so we asked
the doctor to help her cross the Bridge, and we let her go. We
are all very sad and will miss our Tiger-girl very, very much
forever.

Helen Keller Fort,
has suddenly and unexpectedly passed on

On
the evening of Sunday, December 1, 2002,
Helen has no idea she's about to meet the Fort Family,
who will be her loving guardians for the next eight years,
the rest of Helen's short but wonderful life.
An email of condolence about
Helen:

Subject: Helen
Hello,
Helen was the first article I read about when I first found 'Straydog'
on the Internet. Her adoption was a beautiful
story to re-read. And how sad that she has passed.
My condolences to the Fort family, who loved her and gave her
a forever home for these wonderful years. Yes, a dog with disabilities
is VERY WORTH adopting. I've had two 3-legged critters,
several with frequent seizures, several with life sustaining meds
every day, and several who became blind and deaf - and some
would say 'Put them down'. I never considered doing that
just because they had disabilities. You wouldn't do that
to your kid and that's is what they are.
My heart hurts for the Fort family. Hopefully they will adopt
another dog to give them many years of happiness and love like
Helen did.
Thanks for all you do for the critters. Hugs and extra pets
to the Chihuahua gang!
Marilyn
