On March 25th, we held a very special event here at Straydog that will have a significant impact on the lives of all our residents. The Ground Breaking Ceremony marked the beginning of our Better Life Campaign, a ten-year master plan aimed at improving the living conditions for all dogs at the shelter.
The Better Life Campaign will entail upgrading the hospital facilities, constructing new buildings to house up to 80 dogs, and reconfiguring the outdoor spaces. The goal is to provide a better quality of life for all the dogs and improve the shelter’s overall efficiency.
The Ground Breaking Ceremony kicked off the first phase of the Better Life Building Campaign, which involves constructing two new buildings with indoor/outdoor space, renovating existing buildings, and upgrading current outdoor spaces and kennels. The event included a ceremonial first shovel and a tour of the existing facilities, allowing everyone to meet some of our beautiful and loving residents.
This celebration was a pivotal moment for Straydog, and with improved facilities, the shelter will be better equipped to care for and house dogs in need, providing them with a better quality of life while they wait for their forever homes.
