A message of hope & praise from Pam & Juana –
Juana and I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during this difficult time. With so many changes taking place such as shelter in place, social distancing, essential businesses, etc., we are living a new way of life at Straydog and wanted to share how we are managing.
On our campus we have maintained our regular schedule of care-giving, feeding, cleaning, walking and loving the dogs. With a scaled down team of dedicated caregivers, we are doing this while practicing social distancing and wearing masks and gloves. The safety of our staff and dogs is our utmost concern. We have taken in many new rescues and are at capacity right now. In spite of this, the care of our dogs has not changed and continues to be our top priority. Their medical needs are continuing to be met in a safe manner at Morton’s Small Animal Clinic. Only pets are allowed inside while the humans wait outside in the parking lot during examination and treatment.
What has changed is our public exposure. Regrettably, we have temporarily suspended all adoption events as well as home visits prior to adoptions. We hope to resume these important activities in the near future while still maintaining the safety of our dogs, staff, and volunteers.
We have also had to reschedule our two biggest fundraisers: the Golf tournament and the Pups and Pearls Gala. The Golf tournament has been moved up to August 14, 2020, and the Gala has been rescheduled to the fall on October 18, 2020. We hope these new dates will allow everyone to join in the fun at both events. For more information, please visit our website at www.straydog.org or follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/straydoginc.
This pandemic has changed all of our lives, but we want you to know that the dogs at Straydog are safe and loved and do not feel any change at all. Your support has been and continues to be critical to our mission. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to our Spring Match through May 15 by clicking on the button below. Your donation will go to work immediately to continue our mission. Stay safe and we hope to see everyone soon.
With love and gratitude,
Pam and Juana
